Meet Peg Gyldenege

Peg Gyldenege 2015
20 years of study, ceremony ,ritual, healing, blessings and creating art have fine tuned this woman into her role today of Artistic Magic Medium. May I introduce my self:

My name is Peg queen of possibilities. I am an artist working in many, many different mediums as well as being one. I am a healer, teacher, wife, mother, dancing goddess, keeper of Faery ways and sacred woman of power as I walk between the worlds sharing messages of love, healing and laughter.

Ultimately all my work is about helping people remember the miracles and magic of each and every day. I create wearable art to help you remember and Celebrate!!! Today wear unpopular colors together, eat waffles for dinner, wear big sparkling jewelry with sweatshirts?

Be in charge of your own happiness and understand our connection to simply everyone and everything we have the privilege to experience.  Because life is to be lived not observed. And some days are messy, dig in darling!  And that is what I do and I am not confused.
Art has always been a part of my life. It feeds the creative fire that burns in this redheaded soul.  I am a silver smith, fuse glass, work in resin and am a seed bead artist.  Beads captured my heart and I have followed this trail of light leading me to where I exist today.  I love putting combinations of metal, glass and beads in unique ways to tell my stories of life.  My pieces are for the person who wants to stand out in a crowd. They are for the bold confidant woman who dances to her own beat.

I’m curious about how things work and spend many hours creating, testing and finally completing unique and endearing art. Each piece has a story and fills my head with dreams and characters that help form the ideas for my designs.

I’m influenced by Art Deco, Art Nouveau, & Architecture, great books, my garden, the wee ones and faces, lovely faces, old faces, and young faces, did I mention faces??? I’ve surrounded myself with a plethora of supplies collected and lovingly stashed from all over the world. Imagine rich bronze pearls, kiln worked glass, luscious crystals in a rainbow of colors precious metals, hand wrought pendants, semi precious beads, ruby, lapis, amber, & coral, to name just a few, from which I create my glorious wearable art.

I have been teaching and creating with PMC & Art Clay for more than 12 years. I am a certified instructor with both companies. I have had over 900 students and started the Seattle/Tacoma local chapter of the National PMC Guild. We met for the 7 years and had a great group of delightful artists, generous and giggling their way thru a myriad of projects and challenges, while finding a safe haven to renew their creative spirits. Hence the name of our guild “Creative Spirits”.  I served as a 2010 – 2011 Seattle Metals Guild board member.

They were granted a dream to own a bit of land; many years ago a young couple purchased an old house with ½ an acre in the midst of a small town. Life had been a bit rough for the young artist and because of the purchase heralded the sound of new beginnings. The land was fertile and while watching the first year unfold there was a magical discovery of many trees, shrubs and plants growing and thriving gathered from around the world.

The land began to speak to Peg in her dreams both day and night and small sparks of tiny colored lights would appear just at the edge of her vision then quickly disappear when she turned to look.  The land and the house began to whisper improvements to strengthen this small sanctuary of the surrounding lands with shrinking property and a building boom of apartments.

Slowly a large pond was added and a small nursery of water plants was the couples source of income. With the pond came more and more birds, dragonflies in every color along with many critters being dropped off with notes ( I know you will take good care of this-------) Many, many kittens puppies and even a baby Canadian goose. The land also became a place for children to play and explore catch a snake, find egg shells from the many nests being built in the trees. The house became a castle complete with turret filled with books. The land became a place of gathering for ceremony and ritual. The tiny lights felt safe and became first voices to guide and teach the young Wise Woman then gradually allowed her to see and speak to the fae who lived on the land.
